BIG SURPLUS OF TEA

POSITION IN BRITAIN (N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent) LONDON, Jan. 3. Britain is reported to have plenty of tea, of which it is stated there will be a big surplus, while many people are not taking their full ration of 2£oz a week. The catering trade, therefore, has asked the Ministry of Food for a 10 per cent, increase in its allocation. A tea broker has stated “ London is packed with tea. The controllers do not know where to store some of it. There is every reason for taking tea oft the ration immediately.”
