ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE

HILLSIDE DIVISION The Hillside Ambulance Division held its annual social recently. There were approximately 150 persons present. including Assistant Commissioner A. G. Swanson, Acting Corps Superintendent L. Stewart, Coi;ps Officer H. Giliigan, and the divisional president, Mr W. L. McEvoy, who delivered his last annual speech before his retirement as works manager. Novice certificates were presented by the assistant commissioner, and demonstrators' certificates to R. Hay, C. Findlay, R. Hughes, J. McLellan, and J. Arnold. Fourteen first-aid certificates and one advanced aid certificate were also presented, as well as seven medallions and 34 bars to medallions. Items were given by G. McKersey and F. Harper. The acting corps superintendent presented trophies as follows:—Gaspar Cup (novices’ diagnosis) and Fox Medal (roller bandage novice), R. O. Horne; Fox Cup (senior), Divisional Superintendent A. Reynolds; Holly Shield (senior diagnosis), L. McKay; Efficiency Cup (team work), A. Hebbard, G McKersey, G. Thorn, and J. Tanner. The division held its annual picnic at Brighton on Saturday, December 15.
