(Special) INVERCARGILL, Jan. 1. The Southland Racing Club's summer meeting will open at Invercargill tomorrow. The prospects are for fine weather, and the track will be in firm order. The 'lnvercargill Cup field is one of the weakest in years, and Aurora Australis is in a class of her own among those she is down to meet. Wantwood is ineligible for the Tlirec-year-old Handicap, and Bayreuth is ineligible for the New Year Handicap. The rehandicaps declared after the Wyndham meeting to-day are as follows: Flying Handicap: Lisheen 8.5 to 8.11. Invercargill Cup: Aurora Australis 8.0 to 8.7. Waihopai Handicap: Lisheen 7.12 to 8.3.
