THEFT OF FRUIT CASES In the City Police Court on Monday morning, before Messrs J. J. Marlow and 1-1. E. Barth. J.P.’s, Allan Abbott a single man, aged 22, residing at 1Albion place, was charged with the theft on or about December 28, of a number of fruit cases valued at £l, the property of On Chong and Co —Chief Detective T. Y. Hall said that owing t,o lack of space On Chong had been forced to stack empty fruit cases m an open yard at the rear of his business premises. A number of these cases had disappeared, and Chong reported the matter to the police, who found some of the cases, already broken up, in the accused’s property, which adjoined the open yard.—Abbott, who pleaded guilty, was fined £2.
