CHILDREN’S PARTY
SIR CYRIL AND LADY NEWALL ENTERTAIN
The lovely grounds of Government House, Auckland, were a picturesque setting for a party given by their Excellencies the Governor-Genera], Sir Cyril Newall, and Lady Newall, for widows of servicemen who had lost their lives in the war, and their children. There were 140 mothers and 230 children at the function, and on arrival each was greeted personally by their Excellencies. Misses Georgina and Diana Newall attended the party. In order that the mothers could enjoy themselves as well as the children, members of the Auckland Grammar School Old Girls’ Association took charge of the youngsters.
