LABOUR WOMEN’S GUILD
As a conclusion to the year’s work, members of the Labour Women's Patriotic Sewing Guild were entertained to afternoon tea by Mrs M. Conmll.v at her home on Saturday afternoon, and a veiy pleasant time was spent. Mrs McAulifTe. sen., who is honoured as the " Mother of the Guild,” was presented with a shoulder spray, after whicli musical items and community singing were enjoyed. Afternoon tea followed. Mrs Connelly was given a cup, saucer, and plate set and Miss M. Walker (the secretary) a box of lace handkerchiefs. In return each member received a dainty handkerchief. Nalional songs, the singing of “Aiild Lang Syne,” and the exchange of Christmas greetings terminated a pleasant afternoon.
