EGYPT SEEKS REVISION - NO NEED FOR RETENTION OF TROOPS (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 22. " The Government yesterday received an Egyptian note asking for negotiations for the revision of the 1936 Anglo-Egyptian Treaty, says The Times diplomatic correspondent. It is understood the note argues that the continuation of the treaty in its present form is unwarranted and tnat there is no longer any military necessity for the retention of British troops in Egypt. The note also suggests that negotiations should cover the Sudan, which is now under a condominium.
