NEW ZEALAND WOOL BOARD
THE KNITTING COMPETITION A large entry is indicated for the Woo] Board’s Knitting Competition, and many retailers have had to write for extra supplies of entry forms. This £430 competition closes on March 16, and a survey of wool shops and wool counters throughout the country shows that the demand for entry forms has not yet reached its peak. School children are readily taking up entry forms in their sections, ana the Education Department and many local education boards have given aetive help in bringing details of the competition to the children’s notice. One country school writes that every pupil will be sending an entry. A few obscure points about the competition have been cleared up as follows: 1. The competition is not confined to women; men are eligible to enter for all aduit sections. 2. No docket or manufacturer’s label is needed for Section s—Homespun Wool—but these tags are still required for all other sections as a check on the type of wool used. 3. Displays of winning entries will be made in the main centres after the competition, and prize-winners may have to wait a little while before their entries are returned: but they will not have to wait for their money.
