PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION
NOMINATION OF MEMBERS LONDON, Dec. 13. The leader of the House of Commons, Mr Herbert Morrison, announced in the House of Commons a new arrangement for sponsoring the Parliamentary delegation to India. The delegation, instead of being sponsored by the Empire Parliamentary Association, will be chosen by the Lord Chancellor and the Speaker of the House of Commons, 1 who will nominate the members of their respective houses. The Government, m making the new arrangement, had regard for the view expressed m the House of Commons conveying a doubt as to the advisability of Empire Parliamentary Association sponsorship. Mr Morrison said he wished to make it clear that the members would go out as representatives of Parliament to make personal contacts, ascertain individual "views, and convey to leading Indians the broad general attitude of the chief British political parties. The delegation would not be charged with an official inquiry, nor would it be asked to make any formal report. Mr Anthony Eden, welcoming the new arrangement, said those who earlier had doubts would feel there had been much improvement.
