Following' is a statement of assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand -at the close of business on December iO (the figures for the previous week given in parentheses):— Liabilities. General reserve fund, £1,500,000 (£1,500,000); bank notes, £44,974,760 (£43.751,895); demand liabilities—State, £13,778,744 (£12,343,230); banks, £53,224,028 (£54,574,504); other, £283,804 (£518,780); liabilities in currencies other than New Zealand, £6524 (£93,649); other liabilities, £3,100,048 (£3,095,704); total, £116,867,911 (£115,876,765). Assets. Gold reserve, £2,801,877 (£2,801.877); sterling exchange, £76,655,615 (£75,975,794); subsidiary coin, £41,847 (£48,160); advances to the State or State undertakings Marketing Department, £2,589,647 (£2,309,953); for other purposes, £28,000,000 (£28,000,000); investments, £5,799,074 (£5,799,074); other assets, £979,849 (£941,905); total, £116,867,911 (£115,876,765). .Proportion of reserves to notes ana other demand liabilities, 70.773 per cent. (70.767 per cent.).
