RECORD FOR DOMINION
HEALTH STAMP SALES FIRST DAY’S FIGURES Sales of health stamps in the Otago district on Monday, when the campaign opened, totalled £4OBI 3s 9d, which, it is understood, is a record for New Zealand. Good business was again done yesterday, and arrangements are being made to staff the stall in the vestibule of the Chief Post Office with members of the Post and Telegraph Ladies’ League. Postal officers gave voluntary service on Monday night in stamping the first-day covers, and men qualified to express an opinion said that the task was one of the biggest they had ever undertaken, as the letters were handstamped. Many tributes have been paid to the postal officers for their work, the stamp impressions being regarded as the best ever made during a health stamp campaign.
