KAIKORAI CLUB

The president, Mr R. G. Fergusson, was in the chair at the twenty-third annual meeting of the Kaikorai Cricket Club, held lest night. A Successful Year Moving the adoption of the annual report., the president extended congratulations to the senior and intermediate teams on winning their respective competitions in the past two seasons. Mr H. C. Balk seconded the motion, which was carried. Tlie balance sheet, which was presented by the treasurer. Mr J. H. Kerr, showed the club to be in a sound financial position. It was reported that the Freeman Memorial Trophy had been awarded to Mr A. N. Lawson, who has given outstanding service to the club. Batting honours were won by Mr Lawson and Mr C. F. W Allcott was the outstanding bowler, with 51 wickets at an average of 9 runs. A notice of motion to the effect that 18 vice-presidents be elected instead of 12 was submitted by Mr Wellham and carried. A further notice of motion that one selector be' appointed for the senior and intermediate teams, and only 'one other for all junior grades was put forward by Mr A, Shanks, and was also carried 'Mr H. C. Balk referred to the outstanding services rendered by the secretary, Mr J. H. Kerr, who was retiring. Mr Kerr suitably replied. Election of Officers

The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr A. Barnett; president, Mr R. G. Fergusson; secretary, Mr A. V. Austin; assistant secretary, Mr A. Wahlrick; vice-presidents, 18 were elected; club captain, Mr L. V. Stewart; deputy club captain, Mr A. Wahlrick; auditor, Mr J. M. Hood; committee— Messrs Balk, Irvine, Lawson, Barnes, McHardy, Steele, Jaffray, Hannah, and J. Fergusson; delegates to the association— Messrs McGregor, Lawson, and Stewart; delegate to the Boys’ Association, Mr J. Fergusson. „ _ . The opening day was fixed for the first Saturday in October.
