ANNUAL MEETING OF NATIONAL BODY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 23. “It seems strange that amateur athletics and Rugby, the two sports with which I have been associated and for which I worked so hard, are those. I have been unable to persuade to join the fold," said the newly-elected president of the New Zealand Council of Sport, Mr A. C. Kitto, at the annual meeting to-day. After referring to the Wellington Rugby Union’s association with the council and the refusal of the president of the New Zealand Union to ac-, cept a motion regarding the council at the union’s last conference, Mr Kitto said: “ Certain men at the head of affairs will not always be there, and I think a change is coming shortly.” The following officers were elected:— Patron. Dr H. Pettit; president. Mr A. C. Kitto: vice-presidents, Mrs H. D. Muir, Mr A. Marshall: Management Committee—Misses M. Armstrong. M. Wilkins. Messrs W. A. Baker, H. N. Ballinger, W. J. Griffin. J. Meltzer. D. T. Woodfield, J. H. Phillips; secretary and treasurer. Mr K. A. Falconer.
