WAR CRIMINALS
NUMBER SENTENCED TO DEATH RUMANIAN PEOPLE’S COURT (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Mqy 23. The Rumanian radio announced that the Rumanian People’s Court sentenced to death 29 war criminals. Another eight were sentenced to varying terms of imprisonmnet and loss of civil rights. General Constaintin Trestioreanu, who was charged with murdering civilians in Odessa, and General Cornel Calotescue, the former Governor of Northern Bukovina, who was accused of creating the ghetto at Czernowitz, were among those sentenced to death. The properties of those sentenced to death will be confiscated.
