JAPANESE DENIAL
NO PEACE OVERTURES NEW YORK, May 21. The Japanese Information Board spokesman, Sadao Iguchi, is quoted by Tokio radio as saying: “Japan at no time, in no place, and through no channel whatsoever, has ever proposed peace to Britain or America. Such propaganda is apparently designed to undermine Japanese morale. There is no reason to suggest that Japan’s policy in East Asia will change for any reason.” The Domei News Agency stated that critical war developments had led to the mobilisation of Japan's 20,000,000 students to participate in the defence of the homeland. A diploma will be granted for unfinished studies in the case of death.
