INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT
LONDON. May 18. Elaborate post-war plans for industrial development in the States of Southern India, involving an expenditure of over £300,000,000 were outlined to-day by Sir William Boarion, former British Resident in Baroda Mysore and Hyderabad. He said that in’ Hyderabad mqny new factories had been started as the result of the stimulus of war. An industrial scheme was to be set up on the banks of the Godavari with an electrical scheme for the State as a whole. Development planning included schemes for promoting education, public health, road and railway construction, and slum clearai He forcast that some £180,000,000 and special reserves would be available to finance the project in Mysore. The estimated cost of the new schemes is £150.000.000.
