HARRIERS

St. Hilda Club.—The opening run of St Hilda Harriers was held from Mr and Mrs A. G. Wills’s residence, 458 Macandrew road. In declaring the 1945 season open, the president (Mr C. A. Pope) wished the club a successful year. The fast pack, under the whistle of W. Mackintosh, ran in the direction of Burnside and returned via the St. Clair golf links, and the slow pack, under Deputy Captain Miles and Campbell, ran over a similar trail. After the run the opportunity was taken to present Mr P. G. Walker with a small token for the services he had rendered to the club. Mornington Club.—The Mornington Harrier Club held its first run from the Mornington School on Saturday. Several returned men and some new runners were welcomed, and a pack 18 strong ran under tho whistle of the captain, A. Beveridge.
