DAMAGE BY LIGHTNING
The engineer (Mr N. A. Davidson) reported to the Waitaki Electric Pqwer Board yesterday that on March 11 a lightning storm blew the fuses on 11 transformers and also two sets of branch line isolating fuses in the Enfield-Elderslie districts. This year had been a particularly bad one for lightning. Records were being compiled to determine the localities most suspectible to lightning, with a view possibly to installing further lightning arresters.
