RESPONSIBILITY OF NAZI PARTY

Responsibility for the defence of the German homeland no longer rests with the army but chiefiv with the Government and the Nazi Party represented by provisional gauleiters, according to tlie newspaper Das Reich. The gauleiters have the power to replace district army commanders. It is emphasised that army officers _ are not allowed to interfere in political considerations which have often influenced military operations.
