A Press Association cable message from London states that the Leader of the Opposition, Mr S. G. Holland, and Mr F. W. Doidge. M.P., have arrived from New Zealand by air. A British Official Wireless message from Rugby states that the King has approved the appointment of Lord Linlithgow,-the former Viceroy of India, as Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
Passengers who left for the notth by the airliner yesterday were: Mr J. McLennan for Christchurch, Miss G. Hayward, Mr P. R. Grant, Mr F. Fanning, Mr J. Delbridge, Miss C. Berry and Miss B. Taylor for Wellington, Miss J. Miller and Mrs T. Kelly for Auckland. Passengers who arrived by the afternoon plane were: Mr R. T. Simpson, Mr A. A. Scholes, and Mrs Sincock from Auckland, Mr A. D. Paisley, Mrs Y. McCaskey, Mr and Mrs Knight, Mr J. M. Somerville and Mr R. Jeavons from Wellington, Mrs M. Wallace from Christchurch. Passengers who left for Invercargill were: Mr L. E. Routledge, Miss P. McDougall, Mr N. Brownie. Mr G. Skipworth, and Leading Aircraftman v Matheson.
