ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A GUNSHOT WOUND Owen Butler, aged 28 years, living at 43 Main South road, was admitted to the Hospital at 4.30 p.m. yesterday with a bullet wound in his right leg, received when a .22 calibre rifle accidentally discharged at his home. FALL IN STREET Mrs Phyllis Hall, aged 43, who lives at 57' Wansbeck street, Oamaru, was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 3 p.m. yesterday with a fractured right ankle. The injury was caused when she slipped and fell in Stuart street. LACERATED THUMB David Mowat, aged 37 years, living at 15 Cornhill street, was admitted to hospital at 11.30 a.m. with a lacerated right thumb. The accident occurred af the Otago Brush Company’s factory. INFANT SCALDED . Desmond Jones, aged 22 months, fell into a bath of hot water at his home at 15 Embo street, Caversham, yesterday, and was admitted to hospital at 7.30 p.m. suffering from scalds.
