COUNTY RATES
SMALL AMOUNT OUTSTANDING The county clerk (Mr R. K. Gardiner) reported to the Waitaki County Council yesterday that the rates and charges levied for the year amounted to £26,303 15s Bd, of which £25,808 Is 2d was paid by March 16, leaving £495 14s 6d outstanding, The percentage outstanding was slightly more than at the corresponding date last year—l.Bß per cent, compared with 1.39 per cent. Arrears of all rates levied in previous years had been reduced by £302 17s 2d, leaving £283 4s 5d outstanding. The total arrears, including the current year, were £778 18s lid.
