CONCLUSION OF CONFERENCE (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Mar. 20. The conference of the New Zealand Master Butchers’ Federation was concluded to-day. It was decided to request the Department of Agriculture to make a forward survey of the livestock position in the recently flooded areas in the South Island with the object of preventing exploitation of the position created by the l'oss of stock. It was also decided that if the Farmers’ Federation desired to examine the grading of meat the executive of the Master Butchers’ Association would appoint a committee to confer with the federation with the object of endeavouring to obtain a greater quantity of suitable meat for export to Great Britain. , . . The following officers were elected: President, Mr W. S. Hughes (Christ.’church); vice-presidents. Messrs ,T. W. Perry (Auckland), W. Vaughan (Masterton); executive —Messrs A B.‘ Anderson (Christchurch). J. E. Bartlett (Dunedin), J. F. Carter (Palmerston North), G. Dick (Greymouth), G. B. Stanford (Napier), L. Jackson (Gisborne), G. Lamb (Wellington), J. A. McDonald (Timaru), L. McKelvie (Mataura), J. Meikle (Oamaru), J. Metcalfe (Invercargill), H. M. Richardson (Nelson). A. W. Scotting (Auckland), A. Simpson (Blenheim). R. Timewell (Whangarei), W. Timmins (Hamilton). G. Tremlett (New Plymouth), and A. L. Wright (Wanganui); emergency officers, Messrs S. F. Mayer and R. E. Munday (Wellington); trustees, Messrs S. F. Mayer and W. J. Mountjoy. . ... . The next conference, will be held at Auckland.
