NOTES FROM RICCARTON

(Special) CHRISTCHURCH, Mar. 20. The Riccarton horses who went last week to Trentham arrived home this morning. With them came other South Island visitors who raced at the Wellington meeting. The horses •who were at Westport have also returned. Tlie horses from here who were, at the Oamaru meeting will remain to race at Waimate, where they Will be joined by some fresh candidates. H. Nurse has four of his team engaged, but it is unlikely that any of them will make the trip. With Auctor as his only ride, it is doubtful If R. Register will go to Riverton at Easter. If he decides to remain at home he will have the mount on Spanish Main in the hurdle races at the Canterbury Jockey Club’s meeting. Rawhamal, who jarred a joint, is on the mend, and A S. Ellis will race him at Waimate on Saturday, after which a decision will be made about sending Rawhamai and Fluorescent to Riverton. G. Barr is training the six-year-old Lunaria for Mr G. H Humphries. He will not be ready to race for some time, and he will be educated for jumping, a department in which his brother. Stock Exchange, has shown good form. Atreus. in G. Ridgway’s team, Is training on well for engagements here next month, after which he will have a spell F A. Roberts has sold his foal, a sister to Centime, by Defaulter— Citoyenne, to Mr F C.
