SHEEP VALUES EASIER (Special) OAMARU, Mar. 20, Fat sheep values, especially those for ewes, were easier at the Waiareka sale to-da.v by Is to Is 6d per head. The market for store sheep was poor, the majority being passed at auction There were large yardings of fat and store cattle, but particularly light yardings of fat and store sheep. Fat Cattle. —Best steers sold from £l7 to £lB 10s; light, down to £ls 10s; heifers £9 10s to £11; best cows, £lO to £l2' and light, down to £8 ss. Store Cattle.—Eighteen-month to two-year-old steers realised £lO/ and eightmonth to two-vear-old heifers. £7 2s to £8 10s.
Fat Sheep. -Wethers made from 34s 3d to 36s 9d; best ewes. 17s 3d to 19s; light, 15s to 16s 6d; best lambs, 32s to 345: and light, down to 26s Gd. Store Sheep.—Rape lambs sold from 19s 3d to 22s 6d; best two-tooth ewes. 41s to 44s 6d: medium. 37s to 39s Id: soundmouthed ewes, 24s to 27s 6d; and full and failing-mouthed ewes. 21s to 245.
