SYNTHETIC WOOL
Sir, —A lady announcer from a commercial station this morning expatiated on the beauty, durability, and washing qualities, etc., of the synthetic wool materials obtainable in Dunedin. The Government is failing in its duty when it allows synthetic wool to enter this country. The living of every man, woman, and child in New Zealand is dependent on our primary industry, and we a>e cutting the ground from beneath our feet by allowing a footing to wool's greatest competitor. It women of New Zealand wish their men to continue in employment and their farmers to continue producing the necessaries of life, they must avoid synthetic wool. How can membets of the Farmers’ Union countenance such a thing?—l am, etc.. Farmer’s Wife Popotunoa, March 18.
