MINISTER’S WARNING
GOVERNMENT WILL NOT YIELD (Rec. 11 p.m.) SYDNEY, Mar. 19. The State Government will not yield to the tram and bus union’s threat of a 24-hour strike next Saturday. The Acting Minister of Transport, Mr W. E. Dickson, to-day warned the union that the road transport commissioner must be the sole authority in deciding where and when the transport services should operate. “To permit of any interference by employees or anyone else would lead to chaos,” said Mr Dickson.
