HAEGG BEATEN AGAIN
CHICAGO, Mar. 18
After leading for six of the 11 laps, Haegg was beaten by Rafferty for the third time in the bankers’ mile at Chicago Stadium. Haegg took the lead at the halfway mark, Rafferty running last. Rafferty spurted in the final lap magnificently and beat Haegg by four yards in 263.7 seconds, winning his eighth successive race of the season.
