BLASTED BY ROCKETS

SHIPPING IN NORWEGIAN PORT RUGBY. Mar. 18. The violence of the rocket method of strafing enemy transport from the air can be judged from accounts of yesterday’s concentrated R.A.F. Coastal Command attack on six merchantmen in a harbour in West Norway. One merchantman, says the Air Ministry, was burning fiercely when the crews left after more than 32 hits with rockets, 14 below the water line. Another vessel which was left on fire had 37 rocket hits, 31 below the water line. There was a spiral of smoke 500 feet from another merchantman hit by 31 rockets, and two more were on fire after numerous hits with rockets.
