OBITUARY
MRS MARGARET TAYLOR With the death last week of Mrs Margaret Taylor at the age of 83 years, Oamaru has lost another of its old and highlyesteemed citizens, and one whose kindly nature endeared her to all who knew' her. Mrs Taylor was born in Alnwick, Northumberland. England. She came to New Zealand with her husband, Mr John Taylor, who predeceased h:r 33 years ago, arriving in the sailing ship - Wellington at Port "Chalmers in 1833. She came to Oamaru immediately, and had resided here ever since. Mrs Taylor was a member of St. Luke's Anglican Church for 62 years, and was also a member of the iv1.U.1.0.0.F. Lodge. There was a family of nine children, six of whom are now living—three daughters (Mrs H. Maxwell. Dunedin; Mrs F. Dumbleton, Pukcuri; and Mrs T Crisp, Oamaru); and three sons (Messrs Charles and Ernest Taylor, Oamaru, and Mr Fred Taylor, Sydney). Five sons served with the Ist N.Z.E.F. in the first World War, one making the supreme sacrifice.
