SOLDIERS’ PAY
Sir,—l agree with the many letters that have appeared in the Daily Times regardIng the extra Is per day soldiers' pay. I would like to know why the Government, with all its promises to us volunteers, should grant more to the men who were conscripted than is given to us. After all, they were sitting back in good cushy jobs, with high pay, while we worked overseas for 7s 6d per day. Was not our.job then just as hard as theirs is now? I think it is time all us returned men clubbed together and stood up for our rights.—l am, etc., Fair Play (3rd Echelon). Pleasant Point, Marcli 14.
