Sir,—War-time has brought about manv shortages. som% of which have been met to a certain extent. One necessary requirement affecting a section of the feminine community is the ordinary • useful hairpin. There are many of our sex who elect to keep their tresses, believing that a woman’s glory is her hair. Surely some meta! could be diverted to this purpose. which is. in reality, a token of womanhood. Perhaps some responsible business person would be kind enough to move in the matter and so save the situation.
