THE PRODIGAL’S RETURN

UNION JACK IN EIRE

(Rec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, Mar. 16. Following a protest from membeis of the House of Commons, the Union Jack will, for the first time since the inauguration of the Irish Free State in 1921, fly over a public building in Dublin, says the Dublin correspondent of the Daily Express. The Union Jack will be hoisted to-morrow over the office of Sir John Maffey, the British representative in Eire, to mark St. Patrick’s Day. The flags of other nations are regularly flown in Dublin, including the German flag from the German Legation for Hitler's birthday. The Union Jack will in future fly for royal birthdays and national holidays.
