CHINESE SUCCESSES (Rec. 10 p.m.) CHUNGKING, Mar. 18. The Chinese have gained 18 miles in the last 24 hours, and have entered the suburbs of Kanhsien, the former American air base city in Kiangai province. The United Press points out that the Chinese thrust follows the Allied plan to block Japanese northsouth communication between the Canton railway and the coast.
