SPAIN AND JAPAN
(Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON. Mar. 17. Authoritative sources say that the Spanish Government is contemplating breaking off diplomatic relations with Japan, reports the Madrid correspondent of the British United Press. This would be followed up by a declaration of war. Reports of Japanese atrocities in the Philippines, including the murder of Spanish civilians and the violation of Spanish consulates have aroused general abger in Spain.
