Ohinemuri 11.30, 12.10, 1.10, 2, 2.45, 3.35 , 4.20 , 5.10. Fuzzy Wuzzy’s recent track work will bring him into favour for the Champion Hack Handicap at Trentham to-day. A train and bus service will be run from Oamaru to the racecourse in connection with the Oamaru Jockey Club's meeting. After racing at Oamaru Lance Wing will probably go cn to complete a preparation for the C.J.C. meeting. Arabian Night has displayed his best form when racing on a soft track. He galloped well on a firm track at Wineatui on Thursday morning. First In is sure of strong support at Trentham, particularly if started in the W.R.C. Autumn Handicap. She has been training well right through the season. The Solicitor General filly Confusion has trained on since she finished third m the Middle Park Plate, and is likely to shape well in the Plunket Handicap. Pallas Athene is a two-year-old filly by Phaleron Bay—Mother Superior, by Chief Ruler—Dovelet, by Maltster.

Some of the hack class engaged at Oamaru will require to show stamina, as the Highweight Handicap and the Stewards’ Hack Handicap are to be run over 10 furlongs. The Paper Money two-year-old filly Buckle has been omitted from some of the lists of acceptances for the Trial Stakes to be run at Oamaru. Her dam, Snaffle, was got by Pink Coat—Flourish by Clarenceux. Lord Nuffield was -giving Lance Wing 181 b when the latter won at Gore in 2min 4sec. The margin is reduced to 51b in the Oamaru Cup. Good Cast 7.5, Arabian Night 7.5, and Royal Writ 7, were unplaced behind Lance Wing at Gore. In the Oamaru Cup Good Cast meets Lord Nuffield on 31b better terms than when they met in the Wintcn Cup. Good Cast finished a close second to Benbecula, and Lord Nuffield was unplaced. Lord Nuffield afterwards ran a better race over the distance at Gore. Miss Hula can sprint fast, and appears to be staying on a bit better than formerly. She has a seven-furlong task in front of her in the Novice Hack Handicap at Oamaru. In her last start Miss Hula was second to Salabcnd over six furlongs at Invercargill in lmin Msec. Montosorrie, with wins in her last two starts and good track work, has come into favour for the Champion Hack Handicap at Trentham. She is a black three-year-old by Silver Stick from Caviare, by Lucullus —Minsk, by Martian. Silver Stick was got by Beau Pere—Silver Rule, by Chief Ruler. Bridgehead won the Melrose Hack Handicap at Trentham with 8.13 in lmin 26jsec, and ran third at Gore in the Iligh-weight Handicap with 10.12 to Dearo 9.13 and Eastern Coin 9.12. He has a comparatively light burden in the Oamaru Cup and should be able to stay a mile and a-quarter. W. McEwan’s team includes a wellgrown two-year-old by Salmagundi from Look Smart, by Last Dart—All Style, by Gay Lad. The youngster will require time to come to full strength, and is being patiently handled. He is probably one of the biggest horses left by his Siegform, who shows a good turn of speed in his work, is a fcur-year-old gelding by Siegfried from Some Form (the dam of Boaform), by Some Boy 11 from Fail-form, the dam of Tauramai, Passaform, Platform, Dash o' Dublin, Charmaine, and Rin Tin Tin. Foxhaven is amongst those fancied for the W.R.C. Autumn Handicap. Taking a line through Foxhaven's win in the Invercargill Cup, Signal Officer should be with Foxhaven at the finish. At Invercargill Signal Officer carried 61b over-weight, and at Trentham meets Foxhaven on 81b better terms. At Invercargill Foxhaven got a good run on the rails, while Signal Officer came up on the outside and finished well at the end of 12J furlongs. < Lord Theio, who has been made favourite for the Railway Handicap, has won five races this season in 12 staits. He has won the last four on end. On February 10 Lord Theio won with 8.8 in lmin 14 4-ssec, and later in the day won the Turanga Stakes Handicap with 7.9 in lmin 15 3-ssec. At Woodville he won with 9.0 in lmin Msec and on the same day Poutatau won with 8.0 in lmin Msec. At Pahiatua Lord Theio 9.9 won in lmin 13 3-ssec, and he has 7.9 at Trentham. He is a three-year-old chestnut colt by Theio from Saturation, by Lord Quex —Black Scotia, by All Black—Scotia, by St. George—Fair Nell, by Apremont—ldalia, and so belongs to a family of good winners. Immediate’s win in the Kinloch Handicap at the Banks Peninsula meeting with 7.8 in lmin 25 2-ssec brought him recognition as one of the most promising horses in training. He has 91b more in the Thompson Handicap, and will carry strong support. At the Wellington winter meeting Immediate 8.7 won over a mile in heavy going, and on the second day won again with 9.4 in heavy going. He is now said to be a much improved horse. When Bridge Acre won the Wellington Guineas and beat a good field of three-year-olds she gave promise of more success. She had a bad run in the New Zealand Derby, in which she finished a close third to Pensacola and Golden Souvenir. She failed in three subsequent engagements, and in consequence has dropped out of favour. She remains in the Thompson Handicap, and in her preparation has been getting through useful tasks without breaking the watch. Bridge Acre, if back to her early form, would hold more than an outside chance.
