DAILY INTERCESSION

As the battle rages, and as we look for battles perhaps fiercer and costlier still, •we lay before Thee our anxious thoughts and yearning desires concerning loved ones now going in danger of their lives ■ for King- and country and for the freedom of mankind. Sustain them, O Lord, in this their duty. Sustain us in what Thou callest us to bear. Father, if it be Thy will, spare us the cup whose bitterness we dread, but if we must drink it, may we do so ivith faith in the promises of Christ, and with the assurance and comfort of the immortality which His Gospel brings to light, through Jesus Christ. . * " •
