YESTERDAY’S PROCEEDINGS (F.0.P.R.) WELLINGTON,' Dec. 13. Various subjects were discussed by the House of Representatives to-day when it again sat extended hours in an effort to expedite the remaining business for the sessioh. The recommendation by a. Select Committee that a Royal Commission be appointed to report on the gaming laws gave rise to a lively discussion during the afternoon, and the report of the Public Accounts Committee was under discussion when the tea adjournment was taken. In the evening consideration was given to Bills on the Order Paper. The Finance Bill and two measures dealing with the settlement of the Taranaki and South Island Maori claims respectively were read a second time, and just before 1 a.m. the House went into committee on these Bills.
