NEW FIGHTER PLANES
TERRIFIC RATE OF SPEED WASHINGTON, Dec. 12. Fighter planes with top speeds of over 700 miles an hour will be in service in the near future, said RearAdmiral Dewitt Ramsay, chief of the Naval Bureau of Aeronautics, reporting to the House Naval Affairs Committee on naval aviation. He added that the highest present operational speed was 400 miles an hour.
