SEVERE SNOWSTORM

HEAVY FALLS IN TORONTO OTTAWA, Dec. 12. A message from Toronto states that all Southern Ontario, particularly Toronto and Hamilton, is experiencing its worst snowstorm. There have been falls of up to 24in in some places, and highways in all directions are impassable. Government offices, schools, and some stores are closed. Milk and bread deliveries have been cancelled. No traffic is moving in Toronto. So far 15 deaths are reported from Toronto and Hamilton. The Toronto afternoon paper did not publish the usual editions.

Snow has blanketed the east coast of the United States as far south as Georgia, causing at least 66 deaths, mostly from traffic accidents. Trains, buses, and air lines have halted operations in some sections.
