WANAKA
Improved Conditions.—There were snow showers round the hills in the early part of last week, but conditions improved afterwards, and in the latter part of the week the days were much warmer. The lake has been at a very high level, but has fallen a little lately. Women's Bowling.—The following are the results of the third round of the women’s bowling championship:—Mrs McKegg beat Mrs Studholme 20 —17, Mrs Halllday beat Mrs Wilson 23—19, Mrs Anderson beat Mrs Davie 18 —13. Mrs Miller beat Mrs Paterson 26—15. Patriotic Subscriptions.—The following additions are to be made to the Cardrona patriot'c subscriptions;—J. Galvin £2, “Anon.” £2.
Dance.—A dance was held after the pictures on Saturday evening. Music was supplied by local musicians, and the proceeds were handed to the local Patriotic Committee.
