AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION
MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Automobile Association of O.ago last night was presided r over by Mr H. S._ Reid. Others present were—Messrs P. W, Breen, W. J. Mclnnes, G. W. Ferens. J. L. Passmore, G T. Anderson, A. E. Bingham, J. paidwell, T. L. Campbell, W. L. Coxhead, D. Forsyth, W. A. Jenkins, B.M. Rodger, J. G. Souness. R. O. Talbot, G.,T. Thorn. T. Y. Turner, L. M. Wright, and J. A suggestion of an exchange between transport .officers in . Christchurch and Dunedin, with a view to an improvement in traffic conditions- in Dunedin, was received, the member responsible for pulting it forward to be informed that the matter was in the hands of an executive member of Ihe association,—According to Mr Ferens, the' suggestion was made because the wife of the member concerned had been nearly killed at a Sa jt \vas decided to refer the matter of overgrown portions of city and suburban roads, particularly the Queen s drive. Kenmure road, and Tolcarne avenue! to the civic authorities with a view to the removal of potentially danSC cT conversion and the consequential penalties again came up for discussion, and it was resolved that the association should press for more severe penalties in such esses. In respect of a ?Ps?ific Quoted it was decided to withhold action pending a report by the underW ln e order to eliminate conflicting reso-luti-ns on the subject of the payment and collection of' subscriptions, it was to rescind all previous’ rcsoluon the boSks.
