MEETING OF DUNEDIN BRANCH
The monthly meeting of the committee of the Dunedin branch of the Plunket Society held last Friday, was attended by Mrs McGeorge (in the chair), Lady Sidey, Mesdames Begg. Cairney. Caiman. D C. Cameron. Carr, CLeghorn Earnshaw Hislod Inglis, Jones, Lindley, Longbottom, Mckillop, Mandeno, Moodie, Reid, Sowerby, SDeieht Thomson, Bauld, and Allen (Wakarif A. C. Cameron (Maori Hill), Wilson and Smith (Palmerston), Alexander (Macandrew Bay). Henderson and, Parsonson (Mornington), Flamank and Riddick (Pine Hill) Anderson and Dove (St. Kilda), Frances (Portobello), Mitchell and McLean (Anderson’s Bay), Walker (Waverley), Ward '(Port Chalmers), and Misses Johnstone, Kyle, Scott, and Theomin. The matron of the Truby King-Harris Hospital reported that 14 mothers and 26 babies had been admitted, and 10 mothers and 19 babies had been discharged during November. The Plunket nurses' and Karitane nurses’ examinations were held during the month. , -.. . .. . The charge nurse reported that attendances at the pre-school clinic had not been so good owing to the prevalence ot whooping cough • and to the wet weather. Pre-school supervision by the pre-school nurse had commenced at Port Chalmers, two visits have been made. It was proposed to make a fortnightly visit there —on the first and third Thursday m the month. , . _ The summary of the work of the Dunedin Plunket nurses showed that during November there were 1808 babies and 1911 older children on the list. A total of 1401 visits had been paid to homes, and 3950 to the rooms. At the close of the meeting the opportunity was taken at a social function to welcome Miss D. Batt, the newly-ap-pointed matron of .the Truby King-Harris Hospital.
