FAT CATTLE PRICES EASIER

(Special) OAMARU, Dec. 12. There was a large yarding of fat cattle at the Waiareka sale to-day. with a medium yarding of fat sheep and a small yarding of store sheep and pigs. No dairy cows were forward, and the few store cattle offering were not sold. The fat cattle were generally of high quality, but prices for all lines were slightly easier. Prices: Fat Cattle,—Best steers, £l7 to £l9 2s 6d- medium £ls to £l6 ss; and light, down to £ll ss: best heifers. £l2 15s to £l4 2s 6d; medium, £9 to £ll 10s; best cows, £lO 7s 6d to £l2 2s 6d; medium, £7 10s to ,£9; light, down to £6. Fat Sheep.—Best wethers, 33s to 35s 9d; medium, 29s to 31s 6d; light, 27s 3d; ewes, 21s 6d to 265; lambs, 28s 6d to 32s 6d. Store Sheep.—Best wether hoggeis. 24s to 24s 3d; pen of small wether hoggets, 18s 3d; pen of ewe hoggets, 30s. Pigs.—Large stores, 57s 6d; best slips, 37s to 40s 6d; others, 35s to 375; small weaners, 26s 6d.
