CLYDE
Fruitgrowers’ Meeting.—Mr,T. R. Robertson presided over a well-attended meeting of the Clyde Fruitgrowers’ Association. Correspondence was received from the federation in regard to frost damage, and assistance in procuring firepots was offered to those growers affected who have no pots. The local director, Mr Kinnaird, wrote on the subject °f ceiling prices. A member stated that an increase in the ceiling price on apricots was of no use to the grower who had lost his crop of this fruit, but if it was extended to the other stone fruits, of which there was some left, it would be be Thc C Fruit Season.—Conditions have improved during the last few days and much heavier pickings of cheeries aie now taking place. With Christmas only a fortnight away, however, there will not ne many peaches or apricots available for the festive season.
