PIONEER WOMEN

The third birthday party of the Otago Pioneer Women’s Memorial Association was held in the Memorial Hall on Friday. The president, Dr E. 11. McKinnon, extended a welcome to members and to delegates from affiliated societies. An interesting and enjoyable musical programme was presented by Mr Spackman’s choir from the Otago Girls’ High School, and the following pupils:—Misses,Betty Cleland and Gwenyth Dunn (piano solos). Miss Janet Law (violin solo). Misses Merle Lcmin and Judith Wilson (vocal solos), and Miss Nola Sutherland (recitation). Recitations were also given by Mr W H. Naylor and Miss Ufton, and Mr T. R. Thomson delighted the audience with conjuring tricks. Supper, which was served by the executive, included a three-candle birthday cake, cut by the Mayoress. Mrs D. C. Cameron. The appreciation of the audience to all those who had contributed to the entertainment of the evening was voiced by Mrs Aslin.
