BRITAIN’S BIG PART
MAKING THE NEW PEACE No one suggests that Britain can or should do less than justice to the important new links which have been forged during this war with America, Russia, and China, states the London Observer in ah editorial article. But this association is not enough upon which to build a lasting peace. If peace is to be a reality Europe must be one of its pillars. Europe can be an active partner in peace only if it finds some form of unity, and it can find that unity only if Britain shows the way. For .at the end of this war Britain will be the only fully intact European Power,. and the only one with working relationships with the other great Powers.
