CHINESE SUCCESSES
SEVERAL POINTS RECAPTURED (Rec. 11.45 p.m.) CHUNGKING, Oct. 23.
The Chinese counter-attacked the Japanese eight miles south-west of Kweiping and by nightfall on Saturday had smashed into enemy positions, says a Chinese communique. The Chinese on Saturday recaptured two points nine and a-half miles from the southern outskirts of Pingnam and three points six miles north of Pingnam. The Fourteenth Air Force provided continuous support to the Chinese ground troops.
