SWIFT RETURN OF TROOPS
' Both the Republican keynote and the Republican platform put great emphasis on the swift return of American troops when the fighting ends, states the New York Times. The keynote said: “ This is our job—to get our boys tion of hostilities we will bring home all speed.” The platform said: “At the earliest possible time after the cessation of hostilities we wil bring home all members of our armed forces who do not have unexpired enlistments and do not volunteer for overseas duty.”
