PROSPECTS FOR TO-DAY

(Special) WELLINGTON. Oct. 22. The weather has remained overcast, with an occasional drizzle over the week-end, and the going for the second day of the Wellington meeting to-morrow will be similar to the conditions on Saturday. A feature of the programme will be a meeting between Kindergarten and Lord Chancellor in the Harcotirt Stakes, In which there is the likelihood of a good-sized field. Glenfalloch is a doubtful starter. Several horses have two engagements, and it is understood that Gulf Stream will run in the Pearce Handicap, Sir Bradbury in the Awatea Handicap, Longsword in the Heretaunga Handicap, and Conspicuous in the Pearce Handicap. Betting will be win-and-place, and the following horses are likely to be well supported:— 11.15: Rimu Hurdles.—High Morale, Maggiorc, Albino. 12.0: Trial Stakes.—Golden Souvenir, Big Money, Da Vinci. 12.45: Harcourt Stakes.—Kindergarten, Lord Chancellor, Rink.' 1.33: Heretaunga Handicap.—Longsword, Capronella, Typhoon. 2.20: Karitane Handicap.—Al Sirat, GigllProvider bracket, Montezuma.
